Whites give Glenavon the Blues
Glenavon, who made four changes to their line-up from their 4-1 defeat to Crusaders last week, could have gone in front early on when Gary Hamilton’s corner was punched out to Grant Gardiner, but he couldn’t get any direction on his volley which flew over the bar.
The Whites should have gone ahead on the half hour but Boyd, who got on the end of an Andy Hunter cross which took a deflection off Kris Lindsay, couldn’t direct his header on target.

Five minutes later the visitors were back on level terms thanks to a training ground free-kick. Hamilton played it down the left flank for Kyle Neill to drill a cross for Mark Farren to head in his third goal since joining the Mourneview club in January.
Just before the break the Whites could have had a second but Michael Moore, whose header came back off the crossbar, volleyed over from three yards out – a miss typical of the Whites’ season.
Veteran O’Hare was called into action again just after the break, stopping a snapshot from Moore, and just after the hour mark Aaron Boyd’s header was cleard away by Eddie McCallion following a good spell of pressure for the Whites.

Guy Bates had a chance to equalise again on 85 minutes but his shot was blocked by Lee Windrum, meaning the Lurgan Blues have won just one of their six league games in 2013, while for McCann’s men it’s a first win since October.
