SLIDESHOW: Randalstown Ladies’ Hockey Club table quiz
The game started 20 minutes late due to a no show mix up from the umpires meant both coaches had to step in to fulfil this role instead.
Midway through the half Randalstown took a lead from their own hit out. A lovely through ball from Fiona Lee found Erin Getty high up the pitch who drove through the Garvey defence and swept the ball under the goalkeeper.

The second half was more open than the first. Both teams had good scoring opportunities but didn’t capitalise on them.
With under 10minutes to play Garvey managed to sneak an equaliser. Deflated by the boost in the Garvey team after the goal and the mass support from the crowd, Town knew they didn’t deserve to draw let alone lose the game.
Incensed by the goal, the Town players pressed forward again looking for another goal and were rewarded for their persistence when they won a short corner. The strike from Zoe Wilson was deflected into the goals off a Garvey stick for Town to take the lead.

Randalstown II 0, Lisnagarvey II 2: After a brilliant win against away to Cork in the previous round of the Irish Junior Cup, the 2nd XI travelled to Lisnagarvey in the hope of progressing to the next round.
It was Lisnagarvey who broke the deadlock in the first half, with the ball tapped across the line from a penalty corner.
Lisnagarvey then scored a second goal from open play in the second half.

Town went into the break a goal down when they failed to clear a Pegasus corner. Shortly into the second half, an Emma Gawley pass found Charlotte Stacy free again to even the score.
Extra time failed to separate the two teams and it was on to penalty strokes. Ellie Kyle became the hero of the day saving two strokes and so Randalstown progress to the quarter finals.

However a lot of the U13s were unavailable and 5 of the U11 team stayed on to play for the U13 B team. The girls did not lose any of their 4 games - excellent result for this young team. The A team won 2, drew 1 and lost 1.
