Nominees revealed for annual sports awards bash
The Awards provide an invaluable opportunity to recognise clubs and individuals who have made a difference through sport in 2013. The nominees were shortlisted by the Newtownabbey Sports Awards Committee and the final results will be announced at the gala night which takes place at Theatre at the Mill on April 30.
Up for the Club of the Year gong is East Coast Blaze Inline Hockey Club, Ophir Rugby Club and St Mary’s FC.

Hide AdThe contenders for the Services to Sport Award are Ballyclare Rugby Club’s Peter Caldwell, Trish McFarland (Hockey) and Bertie Nicolson (Taekwondo).
The Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability nominee is Stuart Herron (Golf).
Four teams have been nominated for the Junior Team award: Ballyclare High athletics team; Ballyclare High golf team; Mossley Hockey Club Under-13 and Ballyclare Secondary hockey team.
Seamus McCann (Boxing), Anne Nicholson (Hockey) and Bob Young (Rugby) are in the running for the Coach of the Year prize.

Hide AdManchester United defender Jonny Evans is up for Sportsperson of the Year alongside boxer Paddy Barnes and strongman, Jonathan Kelly.
Ryan Caulfield (football), Danielle Hill (Swimming), Brett Long (football) and Tom McKibbin (golf) have been shortlisted for the Junior Sportsperson of the Year award.
