Ian and Norman brave the storms to win the cups
Two cups were up for grabs: the net prize for the 55th Infantry Cup and the gross prize for the Whitlock Cup.
The good weather and the excellent condition of the greens resulted in over 30 competitors scoring more than 20 points for the front nine.

Hide AdIan Erwin (26) claimed the 55th Infantry Cup in the narrowest of ways, beating his two closest competitors on count-back after all three scored 23 points.
Roy Welsh (18) and Alan Taylor (18) lost their chances by finishing with fives at the ninth.
The five competitors who finished on 22 points were David Johnston, Tom Johnston, John Boyd, Ben McCambey and David Mercer.
The gross prize for the Whitlock Cup was won by Norman McNellis with an excellent score of 34 for 20 points. Birdies at the first and fourth put him two under par.

Hide AdA dropped stroke at the seventh was immediately compensated by a birdie four at the eighth.
Stephen Shaw was one stroke behind in second place. He had a birdie three at the fifth but dropped a stroke at the seventh only to birdie the ninth.

Table-Tennis Tournament gets underway

Hide AdThe first series of matches in a new table tennis competition took place on Thursday night.
Simon Holmes and Norman McNellis topped their leagues and go forward to the final stages which will be played next month.
