DARTS: McGarry defeats Mason to win Individuals title
The experienced thrower defeated club-mate Andy Mason in the final at Ballylumford Club.
Alan Martin recorded the highest check-out of 156 and the lowest darts, 10, on the night.

Hide AdWith over 180 legs of darts thrown in the competition, there were more than 20 180s and a similar number of 100-plus check-outs scored. The entrants were drawn out on four boards and the games were played in a best-of-seven legs format up to the final of each board.
The final was best-of-nine with the winners going into the last four of the competition.
The board winners were: Ray Bell (Gers A), McGarry (Lumford), Mason (Lumford) and Chris Gilliland (Gers A).
In the semi-finals, McGarry defeated Bell 5-3. Colin’s legs were, 17, 15 (116 check-out), 18, 15 and 17 and Bell’s legs were 18, 18 (111 c/o) and 18 (119 c/o).

Hide AdIn the other semi-final, Mason saw off C. Gilliland 5-3. His legs were, 11 (100 c/o), 22, 18 (108 c/o), 21 & 13, with Chris having legs of 16, 13 and 15.
In the final, which was played over a best of 11 legs, and the standard was every bit as good as the semis. McGarry came out on top of his team-mate winning 6-1.
McGarry’s legs were 15, 18 (97 c/o), 16, 15, 13 and 17. Mason won his leg in 15 darts. The match was a closer encounter than the 6-1 scoreline might suggest.
