COOKSTOWN SDLP Councillor James McGarvey has welcomed confirmation from Northern Ireland Water that the water mains pipes along the Lough Fea Road are currently being assessed for upgrading.
He has urged the company to complete the assessment as quickly as possible. The news came after Cllr McGarvey had contacted NI Water following concerns raised by constituents at the frequency of bursts in the water mains along the road.

Cllr McGarvey said: “Over recent months there have been ten bursts along the Lough Fea Road and, as a result, residents’ lives have been disrupted on an ongoing basis.

“I welcome the apology the company have offered for the inconvenience am relieved to hear that they have already begun the process of assessing the water main along the road for upgrading.”
