Woman falsely claimed almost £5,000 in benefits
A woman has been convicted at Lisburn Magistrates' Court for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
Julie McCarthy (48) of Siskin Drive, Lisburn claimed Income Support and Jobseeker’s Allowance totalling £4,907 while failing to declare employment. She was given 180 hours Community Service.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
