This tranche has allowed them to target specific groups, women and youths, that are under-represented within the community. Also, within the application, ‘Local Empowerment’ was framed to allow for individuals to return to Further Education (part-time or full-time) which was examined and delivered in PIPs I – Employability and Training programmes.
Project Co-ordinator Frankie Cunningham said: “Capacity building, whether at individual or community level, certainly transforms and acknowledges that sense of personal achievement and improvement – so to remove any specific obstacle namely transport we offered free Driving Lessons (capped at 10 lessons per customer) to increase the opportunity within those categories.”
