Ultoniae Cultural and Heritage Society has been awarded funding (Peace Impact Programme) to address social imbalances within North Antrim.

This tranche has allowed them to target specific groups, women and youths, that are under-represented within the community. Also, within the application, ‘Local Empowerment’ was framed to allow for individuals to return to Further Education (part-time or full-time) which was examined and delivered in PIPs I – Employability and Training programmes.

Project Co-ordinator Frankie Cunningham said: “Capacity building, whether at individual or community level, certainly transforms and acknowledges that sense of personal achievement and improvement – so to remove any specific obstacle namely transport we offered free Driving Lessons (capped at 10 lessons per customer) to increase the opportunity within those categories.”
