Torrential downpour results in flooding
People in Londonderry were this morning surveying the damage after heaving rain battered parts of the city last night.
At around 8pm the heavens opened and heavy rain caused serious flooding primarily on the cityside.
Worst hits parts included Lone Moor Road, Foyle Road, Strand Road and Little Diamond.

Hide AdLast night council advised motorists to avoid the Foyle Road and Ann Street areas of the Brandywell because of localised flooding.
They advised that they were working closely with the relevant statutory agencies to deal with the situation which was caused by heavy down pours of rain.
