‘Holy hackers’ target Tyrone parishioners in scam
It is understood the emails, claiming to have been sent by the Parochial House in the village, requested money to help “pilgrims” from the Ardboe and Moortown areas who were “trapped” in foreign countries.
The emails claimed passports and money had been stolen from the locals, and asked the recipients to send £2,550, explaining the expense would be met by Parish officials.

“This is a scam and I would advise anyone who receives this type of email to ignore them. We will be announcing it through the Parochial House here too.”
