Boost for local food waste recyclers
The processing cost for organic waste is considerably lower than sending waste straight to landfill.
Last year, over 12,300 tonnes of waste was processed through brown bins across Mid & East Antrim, representing almost half million pounds of savings to ratepayers.

“The idea behind providing these packs of caddy liners is to promote recycling amongst householders.
This will help Council is to meet recycling targets and protect the environment.
“Many householders find caddy liners a convenient way of transferring food waste to their brown bin. Council would underline that householders can also put food waste into their brown bins either loosely or wrapped in newspaper.”
