Assessment of remedial path work ‘as soon as possible’
A tender for remedial work assessment at Blackhead Path was approved by Carrickfergus Borough Council on Monday evening.
A stretch of the popular route has been closed since July for health and safety reasons. The local authority said it was left with no alternative following a rockfall.
At the time, council said the partial closure would be implemented until “an extensive structural assessment” could be made.
A council spokesman told the Carrick Times the tender has been approved and work, which includes hazard assessment, “will commence as soon as possible”.
