Armed with screwdriver as hebelieved people were in his attic
Forty five year old Ian Roland, Glenfield Road, Lurgan, was sentenced to one month in prison, suspended for two years, on each of two charges of possessing an offensive weapon on September 21 last year.
He was also given a conditional discharge for two years for misuse of a public telecommunications network on August 7.

Hide AdThe court heard that on September 21 Roland was seen in the Glenfield Road with a piece of wood in his hand and a screwdriver in his pocket.
He claimed there was someone in his attic so he lifted the items and left his home.
On August 7 he made a 999 call claimed there were people banging on his door trying to get in. Police went to the area but did not see anyone. Later that evening he made another 999 call making the same allegation.
A solicitor for Roland said he had deep rooted issues borne out of alcohol misuse.
