Cookstown spectator 'critically' injured

AN elderly Cookstown man was critically injured while attending a motorcycle road race in north county Dublin on Saturday.

The 70-year-old was engulfed in flames when three bikes crashed close to him during the Skerries 100 shortly before 5pm.

He is being treated for his injuries at a specialist burns unit at St James Hospital in Dublin.

Two motorcyclists sustained minor injuries in the accident.
